“Spyder Racing” has taken the hassle out of Streetbike customization and service.
Since inception in March of 2003, “Spyder Racing” and its founders have focused on providing what other Streetbike retail operations could not - filling a growing need for quality parts and service specifically for Streetbikes. As an old entrepreneur once put it, “Find a need then fill the need” which bears striking resemblance to Zeppelin’s mantra “If you build it, they will come”. Let me explain a little further.
Growing up in a rural town in Connecticut, we had plenty of spare time to fill with the majority of it coming in the way of fixing up, customizing and riding dirtbikes, go-carts, ATV’s and any other mechanically driven method of transportation we could get our hands on. The only problem was access to affordable parts and knowledgeable, timely service. We had to either drive ourselves 45 minutes away (when we were old enough to drive) or had to beg and plead with our parents to drive us to our parts and service shop so we could spend hard-earned money on overpriced parts and slow service. Perhaps it was frustration in the way our selected store operated or the fact that there were so few shops around we had to settle on going somewhere that we were less than happy with; a micro-monopoly you might say, which eventually proved to be our inspiration.
After moving to Florida, now older (and wiser?) we not only found a need in Florida, but with the progression of the internet over the past 10 years, all across the globe! This time it was not dirtbikes or go-carts or ATV’s that held our interest, it was bigger, bolder, high-powered, mega-horsepower street machines.
The global marketplace is devoid of a retail/information center for Streetbikes where people of all ages can come with part requests, service questions, and readily available and up-to-date industry information. “Spyder Racing” exploded onto the scene on March 22, 2003 in Orlando, Florida later opening up the first retail location in Oviedo, Florida, just a few miles outside the city limits of Orlando.
There is almost an unspoken need among the Streetbikes community; a place to save them from the clutches of their own micro-monopolies just like the ones we had growing up. A handful of other places exist but customers are increasingly finding themselves unhappy with these businesses for a number of different reasons; poor service and/or attitude of the staff, slow delivery times, and lack of the access to aftermarket and OEM parts from major brand name distributors.
